![]() ![]() I took the first dose that night when I came home. I just got out of the hospital after 24 hrs of IV antibiotics for a severe kidney infection. Considering the benefits, it is an easy trade off to make. ![]() Both my wife and I have had gastrointestinal side effects, including cramping, soft bowel movements, and mild upset stomach. I am grateful how it salvaged some time visiting our son. But I am amazed at how quickly and effectively this worked. I still have a little cough and some chest congestion. She was also prescribed Tamiflu prophylactically. On day 4 including the day of onset, I was feeling even better and took a short 4 mile hike with my wife and son. I took a short walk and went to dinner the following day. By the following evening, after spending the next day in bed, my fever broke and I started to feel better. That evening, after reaching out destination, I went to an urgent care facility. I came down somewhat suddenly with fever, achy joints, cough, chest congestion, and generally feeling ill. I'm still shaking and it's getting worse and worse! I'm able to smell and taste somewhat better, my throat isn't as sore it's just shakiness now that's worrying me. I wouldn't recommend this if you have anxiety issues! I looked up if shaking is a side effect and it told me to call the medical center right away which started to worry me. Hospital said my health was perfect but now I'm not too sure. I'm not sure if this pill can cause anxiety in young adults but I'm not taking it again! Hospital told me that the medicine wasn't recommended because I was young and my body should fight it off alone but my anxiety got the best of me and I went to my doctor the next day (was hospitalized due to fainting from the flu) I have severe shortness of breath and shakiness. Woke up with extreme shakiness and I was told this medicine doesn't normally cause that. Felt the same for awhile until i went to sleep. I ate subway before taking this pill and had some chocolate milk. (I have an anxiety disorder remember this for later) and I was told this medicine was the best for the flu. 4 out of 100 people in the studies had these side effects.Okay, I'm a 20y/o female who just got flu for the first time. ![]() The most common side effects of oseltamivir are vomiting and nausea. It is unclear whether people who have the flu are less contagious after taking Tamiflu.Ī recent analysis of both older and newer studies on oseltamivir suggests that treatment with oseltamivir leads to fewer complications, such as middle ear infection. With Tamiflu, the duration of symptoms was shortened by a number of hours (from 7 to 6.3 days) in adults, and by about one day in children.īut the medication had no effect in children with asthma.Without Tamiflu, symptoms lasted 7 days on average in otherwise healthy children and adults. They only found proof that Tamiflu can shorten the duration of flu symptoms a little: The researchers didn't find any evidence that oseltamivir would be able to prevent serious cases and complications in the event of a flu epidemic. Researchers at the Cochrane Collaboration (an international research network) looked at the results of a total of 20 studies in which almost 10,000 children and adults took part. But people who are otherwise healthy are very unlikely to die of the flu. Complications such as pneumonia are then more common, and they can also become fatal.
